10,000 villages in Telangana would soon get solar power if all the plans of the state government executed in this way. KCR government is planning to take up solar power initiative that would be completed in the next five years.
T-govt will take up this project in partnership with the National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) and Panchyat Raj Ministry. K Tarakarama Rao, IT and Panchayat Raj minister who visited NIRD on Thursday was so impressed with the solar initiative taken by the institute that he immediately made a mind to take up the initiative throughout the state.
KTR also discussed the same with the NIRD Director General Dr M V Rao and asked him to develop a concept in this regard for the state.
The entire project also holds supply and installation of solar units and accessories, lights, and training of the rural personnel to maintain the units.
