121 ft agarbatti

121-feet-agarbattiA 121 feet long incense stick or agarbatti has been lit at the site of the Simhasth Kumbh pilgrimage to be held in Ujjain from April 22 to May 21.

Manufactured in Gujarat, the stick weighs about 4,000 kg and cost of about Rs 3 lakh. The raw material used in the production of the agarbatti includes gobar (cow dung) go-mutra (cow urine), ghee (clarified butter), bamboo, guggal (resin of Commiphora wightii), curd and coconut fibre.

It was lit by Bholagiri, a member of ‘Aavaahan Akhara’, on Sunday evening and is likely to continue to spread scent in the air for the entire duration of the pilgrimage.

It was transported on a truck from Gujarat to Ujjain.
