Atleast 13 people killed and 5 others severely injured in a mishap in a cracker manufacturing factory in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh state. The incidence took place under the U Kotthapalli police limits on Monday.
The police officials have confirmed the death toll and have also feared increase in the number.
Two fire vehicles are trying to control the fire, but the raging blazes rarely appear to come under control easily.
RP Thakur, Additional DGP said, “An accidental fire took place in a firecracker manufacturing unit at Uppada Kothapalli. 13 persons have been declared dead. Fire department is trying to control the fire. All our officers are attending the rescue work.”
Meanwhile, CM Naidu collected the details as soon as the news was passed to him. He expressed deep sorrow over the deaths occurred.
The local police said, , “Fire broke out in the cracker manufacturing shop of Vakathippa of U Kothapalli in East Godavari. We have shifted 7 injured to hospital. The scene is chaotic.”
The police informed that though the manufacturing unit had license, the negligence is the key for the mishap.
