15 illegal immigrants from Kashmir have beenfound in a packed lorry in Somerset of United Kingdom. In a similar incident three days ago, 35 Afghan Sikhs were found being trafficked illegally to UK in a ship.
The police said that the lorry was pulled over at Ilminster in Somerset on Tuesday night discovering 15 Kashmir people in the back of the lorry. They all are undergoing treatment by paramedics as they were found severely dehydrated. They are also being questioned by the immigration authorities.
“We received several calls earlier this afternoon raising concerns about noises coming from the back of a lorry. Officers stopped the lorry at a service station on the A303 Southfields Roundabout at Ilminster. A total of 15 people were found on-board – including men, women and a 15-year-old boy. They have stated they are from Eritrea and Kashmir. They were checked over by paramedics at the scene, but there are no ongoing concerns over their health or wellbeing and they’ve been provided with medical support and supplies. We’re now liaising with the local authority to manage their ongoing welfare needs”, said the police officials.
