17 Indians dead in Nepal bus mishap, Modi condoles

nepal-accident_650x487_61429699684As many as 17 Indians, including nine women belonging to Gujarat died when they were returning after visiting the temple of Lord Pasupatinath in Kathmandu. The bus carrying 45 pilgrims fell into a valley in Nobise village in Danding district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the bereaved families. While 14 people died on the spot, 3 others breathed their last in the Khatmandu hospital, and 28 received severe injuries. The injured were removed to the hospital. Five people were said to be critical.The bus was trapped in the boulders. Two tourist buses carried the pilgrims from India. One bus reached the destination safe, according to Nepali officials. An aircraft was despatched from India to get the dead bodies. The Gujarat government announced an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakhs to the families of those killed in the accident.
