174 engineering colleges still waiting for decision by JNTU

JNTUThe fate of 174 engineering colleges in Telangana still hangs as the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad has not yet come to a decision till now.

The University had earlier rejected these colleges for counseling.

A division bench of High Court on Thursday had cancelled the decision of the University to reduce capacity in some branches of engineering.

Clearing a bit of the air, L Venugopal Reddy, Chairman of State Council of Higher Education said that Eamcet web counseling in the first phase can’t be extended as classes have to begin on September 1. Thursday was the last day for students in Eamcet web counseling to change the options in choosing colleges and streams.

He also informed that the APSCHE had not received any notification on the increase in intake of the 27 colleges, as per the HC order.
