1984 riots case against Congress dismissed in US court

A lawyers group, Sikhs For Justice have filed a case against the Congress party, Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh mentioning them as accused in the 1984 anti sikh riots in Delhi, under the Alien Tort Statute which gives citizens/ groups to file cases on foreign nationals in local courts. The New York Federal Judge overseeing the case has dismissed the petition on Congress party, saying the plaintiffs cannot be considered “Legal representatives.” The case on Sonia and Man Mohan is yet to be decided.
