In Khammam form Monday Contract workers of Singareni Collieries Company Limited under the aegis of trade unions launched 48-hour strike demanding regularization of their services and implementation of wage revision. At the party office, Potu Ranga Rao who is a CPI New Democracy district secretary alleged K Chandrasekhar Rao the TS Chief Minister for not fulfilling his poll promises made to SCCL workers.
The police were arresting trade union leaders to dilute the strike. Potu Ranga Rao has said to the police with serious agitations if they tried to stop strike forcibly.
In Sattupalli also on Monday Contract workers have staged dharna in front of the SCCL project office. CITU district secretary Lingayya alleged the management for not implementing 9th wage revision agreement for the past 2 years and also said that the SCCL was not extending bonus and other allowances to the contract staff.
Contract workers of Kothagudem on Monday organized a demonstration and staged a dharna seeking SCCL management to fulfill their demands. Speaking on the occasion, All India Trade Union Congress general secretary Vasireddy Seetharamaiah said that all provisions given to contract staff of Coal India should be extended to contract workers of SCCL.
On Monday Contract staff working in Ramagundam area participated in the strike demanding management of SCCL to regularize their services. Outsourcing works came to halt with the workers went on strike.
