2 PG Medical Students Saved by HC

Untitled-6P. Naveen Rao is a Justice of Hyderabad High Court who ordered the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences director to change the head of the cardio-thoracic department from the examination scheduled for two PG medical students.

The judge granted the interim order in two petitions by Dr Rudra Pratap Mahapatra and Dr Jyotindra Singh.

Dr Singh alleged that Professor R.V. Kumar, the HoD, has demanded Rs 10 lakh as bribe and has even threatened that he will be failed in the examination if not paid the amount. Between January and July this year he had deposited Rs 2.5 lakh in the professor’s bank account.

The HoD in turn lodged a complaint against Dr Jyotindra Singh alleging that the amount was deposited in his account in a pre-planned manner to malign him and also sought action against him.

Dr Rudra Pratap again alleged against him and prayed to the court to direct the authorities to conduct an independent investigation.

The judge accordingly ordered the director to ensure that the composition of examiners should not include the concerned HoD.
