In Khammam, on Thursday District Collector Dr K Ilambarithi said 2,334 new claims were added in the voter list showing interest in casting their votes in the ensuing Graduates Constituency MLC polls.
Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal spoke to Collectors of different districts during the video-conference.
Ilambarithi said that in Khammam they received 11,625 claims so far for the Electoral Rolls Revision-2015.He said and 2,359 applications were received for making changes in voter ID cards and 288 claims for change in polling stations. And
9,235 claims were received in Form-6 for enrollment of new voters while 39 for removal of names in the special camps which was conducted on November 16, 23 and 30.
Collector requested to the Chief Electoral officer to sanction additional funds for construction of another floor for the godown.
Campaign is conducted in view of the MLC elections to Graduates and Teachers constituencies in February 2015, under the District Collectors- Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bhanwarlal said.
Bhanwarlal also said that applicants should submit one photograph with application. Attestation by a gazette officer was not required. Those who will be completing 18 years of age by January 1, 2015, to file applications for enrolling their names with in time.
Bhanwarlal reviewed about the funds utilized during the General Elections conducted in May, 2014.
In this video-conference, District Revenue officer J Siva Srinivasulu and Deputy Tahsidar of election wing also took part.
