25% Seats for Weaker Section Students

schoolHyderabad: The joint action committee for implementation of model RTE rules in Telangana State has launched a campaign to urge the government to adopt the rules immediately and undertake immediate implementation to assure that all private schools in Telangana.

JAC has also demanded the government to direct all private schools undertaking admissions for the academic year 2015-16 and vacant 25% seats for admission of economically weaker section students and fill them with only eligible candidates. Officials like the JAC leaders Mazhar Hussain of COVA, Venkat Reddy of M V Foundation, Murali Mohan of Sadhana, Bro Varghese of Chatri, Rao Chelikani of U-Ferws and others said in spite of introduction of Central RTE Act, that GOs and their representation, the act was not being implemented by the state government and also by the private schools.

And they also mentioned the apex court for the judgment directing all private unaided schools to admit 25 percent children belonging to weaker sections and disadvantaged groups in class one every year as per the RTE Act till completion of elementary education.
