29 Indian Fishermen Arrested by Pakistan

Untitled-21The Pakistani authorities have detained atleast 29 Indian fishermen who were allegedly attempting to enter the country’s territorial waters, on Saturday.

Maritime Security Agency (MSA) arrested the fishermen and also took the command of their five boats.

MSA arrested the fishermen during the routine patrol.

An MSA official said that the fishermen were detained about 10 km inside the territorial waters.

MSA had earlier detained a number of fishermen alleging them of entering their territorial waters.

In May, ahead of Nawaz Sharif’s visit to India, Pakistan however released 151 Indian fishermen.

Arrests of fishermen is a continued issue of India with the neighbors like Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
