4,000 MW Extra Power for TS

bandaru_dattatreyaMinister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya told media person in New Delhi that commitment was made in AP reorganization Act for creation of additional power generation capacity of 4000 MW in the
Central Sector for Telangana State. NTPC, Ramagundam plant is being expanded.  In the first phase, two units of 800 MW and in second Phase, three units of 800 MW will be added. Technical feasibility study has been completed and environmental impact study has also been done.  All formalities are completed and for environment clearance and environment clearance is expected to be cleared in two weeks. The foundation stone laying ceremony is scheduled in January, 2016. Land for disposal of ash needs to be finalized by the Telangana Government in consultation with NTPC.  The present generation capacity of Ramagundam NTPC Plant is 2600 MW of which Telangana State is allocated 726 MW. Bhupalapalli power plant where 500 MW capacity is already commissioned apart from another 600 MW is scheduled for commercial operation from November ending.
