The Telangana government has included 5-in-1 vaccine manufactured by Biological E Ltd in its immunization programme. The company announced it today at an event marked with the presence of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao in Hyderabad.
The vaccine will be administered to all the children in the state, as a part of the immunization programme.
The company informed that its Pentavalent vaccine received pre-qualification approval from the World Health Organisation. It has also informed that more than 100 million children across the globe have been vaccinated Pentavalent till date.
Pentavalent is a strong immunisation against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis or whooping cough, pneumonia caused by haemophilus influenza type b Bacteria (Hib) and Hepatitis B or white jaundice.
The Managing Director of Biological E, Mahima Datla said, “Thousands of children in Telangana are exposed to the risk of deadly vaccine-preventable diseases.
The Telangana Government’s endeavour is to increase health access to underprivileged children, and this vaccine will be available free of cost to all children through the immunisation programme.”
