Water level in Ganga River increased above the danger mark in Haridwar, and the officials issued a fres warning today. The highway in Gangotri is blocked due to landslides.

Balrampur and Barabanki districts of Uttar Pradesh are facing a similar kind of situation where where rising water levels have displaced lakhs of people and hundreds have gone missing.
Hundreds of villages have been affected in Balrampur and Barabanki districts where River Rapti and River Ghagra crossed the danger mark today. The increase in water levels in Rapti is due to excess water being released from Bhalubang, Bhairahwa and Kusum barrages in Nepal while the water level in Ghagra has crossed the danger mark after flood water from Chisapani barrage in Nepal was released, as per a news report.
Thousands of people continued are risking their lives as Bihar’s Darbhanga, West Champaran and Nalanda districts after breaches in the embankments of Kamla Balan and Gandak rivers respectively.
Panchane river is overflowing which caused floods in Nalanda where the situation is reportedly termed as “grim”. Thousands of people are being displaced and aid and rescue operations in the area are on.
