‘66 mandals drought-hit’

kcrThe TS government has identified 66 mandals as drought-affected as per the regulations of Central Government, though 206 mandals in nine districts suffered scarcity of rains. Agriculture University in its report informed the government that 73 mandals were drought-hit and another 196 mandals suffered scarcity of rains. A committee under special chief secretary, finance, Pradip Chandra identified 152 mandals as dry spell ones and submitted the file to CM KCR, who is expected to take  a decision after an exercise later while taking into account several factors. The government’s decision is be based on the actual situation in the mandals while taking into account technical
factors.
