8 Indians in 25 powerful women of Asia-Pacific

ICICI-Bank-Chanda-KocharFortune magazine has released a new list of 25 most powerful women in the Asia-Pacific region with 8 Indians grabbing a place.

The MD and CEO of ICICI Bank Chanda Kochar has been ranked second in the list, leading the Indian brigade.

The other Indians who are included in the list are:

SBI’s Arundhati Bhattacharya (4th)

HPCL’s Nishi Vasudeva (5th)

Axis Bank’s Shikha Sharma (10th)

Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw (19th)

National Stock Exchange CEO Chitra Ramkrishna (22nd)

HSBC’s Naina Lal Kidwai (23rd)

TAFE chairman and CEO Mallika Srinivasan (25th)

“More and more businesswomen are taking tougher jobs and helming bigger firms. More than a third of the women on our Asia-Pacific list are making their MPW (most powerful women) debut,” the magazine said.
