8th students can’t read in English

5664060864_2f8680ff5f_zStandard of government school students in maths, science and English subjects is said to be very low, according to a survey conducted by the education department. Rangareddy district students, compared to other districts are lagging behind in all subjects. Only 0.2 percent students scored above 90 percent marks while 55 percent scored below 40 percent marks. Third class students in government schools can hardly read in English whereas in private schools first standard students speak and read in English, according to a survey held in 942 schools – 624 primary, 219 upper primary and 99 high schools. A report was submitted after examining 3,144 teachers and 14,806 students belonging to 3rd and 8th class in State Government schools.
