Earlier, Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Baby’ did well in major cities and it was reflected in multiplex business. It generated Rs 9.3 core in box office collection. ‘Baby’ is the ninth biggest opening day grosser in a list topped by his 2012 release ‘Rowdy Rathore’ (Rs 15.10 crore), ‘Boss’ (Rs 14.5 crore) and Housefull 2 (Rs 14 crore). In 2014, his two movies – ‘Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty’ and ‘Entertainment’ also opened well at Rs 12.18 crore and Rs 11.57 crore respectively.
‘Baby’ box office collections might not reach their expectations but the extended weekend will pick up the collections. Also, expectations have been at an all-time high after the first lot of releases this year failed to make any impact at the box office.
