On Tuesday, an official said that a man of 52-year-old’s is from Hyderabad is suspected as an Ebola case and been tested as a measure of caution against Ebola after his return from Nigeria. His samples were sent to New Delhi-based National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to check for possible Ebola infection, days after his return from Nigeria last month. The samples have tested negative.
Dr Subhakar, nodal officer for infectious diseases like Ebola, said that- no need for concern as there is no Ebola. As Africa, reported Ebola-related deaths a few months ago. As per the WHO definition, he is not a suspect case (for Ebola).
As the man was travelling with the passengers from African countries, which had a chance of Ebola outbreak may also travel with them, so the samples were sent for testing to NCDC as a measure of caution, he said. The patient was put under isolation.
