A shoe thrown on the System, Punjab CM misses attack

A-shoe-thrown-on-the-SystemAn unemployed youth, Bikram Singh, purportedly threw a shoe towards Punjab chief minister Prakash Singh Badal at a function in Isru of Khanna about fifty kilometers from here.

The CM had come to attend the death anniversary of Karnail Singh Isru, a freedom fighter of the village when the youth hurled shoe towards him but missed the target.

The police caught the 35-year-old who himself called ‘Inquelabi Bikram’. When Police questioned the youth, he said, “I am not a Sikh, Christian, Hindu or Muslim. Do not call me Bikram Singh, Bikram Masih, Bikram Kumar or Bikram Khan. I am an inquillabi. I threw the shoe on system of this country, not CM”.

Later, during the press conference, when asked about the incident CM Badal said ‘mere waalo sab nu maafi’ (I have forgiven all).

The political conferences are held in village Issru every year to mark the tribute to Shaheed Karnail Singh who died in Goa fighting for India’s independence.
