download (1)People’s poet Kaloji Narayana Rao is a rare penman for his mastery over the public issues and took the side of the suffering humanity in his life and he was suitably awarded Padma Vibushan for his services. Born in Rattehalli village in Karnataka on September 9, 1914 he was brought up in Madikonda in Warangal district under his brother’s care. He did his law. Even as student public issues attracted him. He chose to oppose injustice right from the beginning disregarding his family as he was a self-made, dedicated to society and a reformer too. His publications induced people to rise against oppression and injustice more so under Nizam’s rule. His birthday as Telangana language day was hailed by many poets.
