After a nation-wide debate, the ruling BJP has finally made fences with Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and the BJP government in Maharashtra has decided to appoint the actor as the brand ambassador of Jalyukta Shivar scheme of the state government.
The scheme is a flagship scheme of the state government to tap and create water resources.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Khan would be addressing a joint press conference today at 5 pmafter launching the scheme.
A huge controversy has erupted after the actor’s comments on intolerance which forced BJP not to renew his contract as Incredible India’s brand ambassador. The actor had said that his wife Kiran Rao was so concerned that she had wondered out loud about relocating from India. Social celebrities have lambasted the Centre that Aamir was punished for those comments. But the Union government has maintained that Aamir has featured in the Incredible India campaign through an ad agency, McCann Erickson, whose contract with the government had ended.
