The NDA government in Centre has modified the existing Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG (DBTL) and the funds will be transferred under MDBTL or Modified DBTL from November 15. The Centre removed the provision which declares Aadhaar number to be a compulsion to get benefit. Under the new MDBTL, only bank account number is sufficient to get the benefit.
The customer has to purchase the LPG cylinder at the price without subsidy. The government will later transfer the amount of subsidy to the bank account of the customer.
The Centre has decided to resume the service under MDBTL in 52 districts in the country which includes Adilabad from Telangana and East Godavari of Andhra Pradesh.
Adilabad recorded the highest seeding in the country as 92% of the total LPG connections are linked with Aadhaar and 72% connections are linked with a bank account.
