BJP is increasingly becoming “a one man party”, just the way Rahul Gandhi chose to describe it, accepted LK Advani. At a BJP meeting held in New Delhi for candidate selections, the senior most leader of BJP chose to make these remarks where party president Rajnath Singh and Narendra Modi too were present. It was Advani who reminded the gathering of Rahul’s February remarks referring to Modi show in BJP. When sombody suggested to counter these remarks by Congress leader, Advani is learnt to have said “There’s nothing wrong with what he has said.” A very uncomfortable silence ensued all around, as described by those around.
After some time, Advani came up with another salvo at Modi, he asked straight, “campaigning is a joint effort by the party where all senior leaders should take part…This time it is Modi and only Modi who is visible. What about others like Sushma Swaraj who are capable of holding the crowds’ attention?”
Advani and Modi relations have been changing colors frequently over the time though Modi was originally seen as Advani’s favorite disciple.
