Afforestation Plans for Telangana, AP Worth 30,000 Crore

Untitled-1Union minister for environment, forest and climate change Prakash Javadekar on Thursday expressed his concern over smuggling of red sander in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and said that the ministry is keen to hold a meeting between both the states to convene a solution to the illegal activities of smugglers.

On the issue of environment, Javadekar said that 46 major industries were closed down for polluting Ganga. He said the Centre is all set for development without any delays.

“The ministry of environment, forest and climate change will hold a CAMPA council meeting on November 24 to formally announce disbursement of Rs 30,000 crore to the states to ensure afforestation,” said Prakash Javadekar.

Union Minister also said that the ministry launched online submission of applications for environment and forest clearance to more transparency in the ministry. He further said the new pollution norms have been set for cement industries, and also for the process of granting permission for forest diversion.
