After US , now China takes note of Modi

EU last year, just last week the US, and now China have decided to show that they are ready to give Narendra Modi his due recognition. When Modi visited the far North East on Sunday, he did all he could to drag the attention of the dragon nation. Addressing a rally in Pasi Ghat in Arunachal Pradesh, he used strong words against China’s attempts to appropriate land in the area, and refusing to recognize Arunachal as an integral part of India. China has been continuing with a policy of not giving Visas to Arunachal citizens, instead stamps them on a separate page in their passports, indirectly saying that Arunachal is an internal part of China. China has long since said that Arunachal is part of Tibet which is Chinese soil, as per its claims.

Modi chose to advise China to stop with its “Expansionist mindset”, and proclaimed that “I swear in the name of the soil that I will protect this country.”

In a response to Modi’s strong words, China’s Hua Chunying, a spokeswoman for China’s Foreign Ministry, said that China refutes to allegations of expansionism, in fact, China wants to settle all border disputes with India as early as possible. “You mentioned expansionism by the Chinese side. I believe all of you can see that China has never waged a war of aggression to occupy an inch of land of other countries,” Ms. Chunying said. She pointed out the joint military exercises soon to start as a proof of China’s intentions of friendship.

Modi used the same venue to pass key comments on another neighboring country, Bangladesh as well. He said that he would welcome the influx of immigrants from there if they are Hindus, as hindus do not have any other place to turn to.
