The state High Court on Monday has considered the Financial Aide for Student of Telangana (FAST)as illegal and asked the government to withdraw the Government Order. On brief statement released to the media, it is stated that the G.O issued on FAST scheme was unconstitutional and it is against the national integrity.
“Telangana is part of India. It is geographically and constitutionally a part of India. The people residing here are Indians. Many people living here made their homes in Hyderabad. They are people of Hyderabad”, said High Court.
The High Court asked the state government to file the counter-petition within 6 weeks and also suggested to reconsider the GO issued.
The FAST scheme proposes the financial aid to the students who belong to the Telangana state. The GO says that the students whose parents or grandparents were bonafide residents of Telangana as of November 1, 1956 will be eligible to take the benefit of fee re-imbursement.
