The Central Health Minister, Harsh Vardhan said on Tuesday that a multi-speciality hospital on the lines of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, (AIIMS) will be set up in Haryana. He informed in the Rajya Sabha that this mult–speciality hospital will be established in Jhajjar of Haryana.
The seven-storey hospital will have all the facilities that are now available with AIIMS, said the Health Minister during the question hour.
He said that the hospital coming soon will have special facilities for cancer treatment. This move has come up as a decision to shed the load the AIIMS, New Delhi has to bear, which sees a large number of patients from outside Delhi.
Mr Vardhan said efforts are being made to upgrade district hospitals, set up more AIIMS- like institutions and cancer hospitals. He also stated that long-term solutions are required to reduce load on premier medical institutes.
