Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was in Golden Temple for shooting her upcoming flick “Sarabjeet”. Clad in a salwar-kameez, the actor cleaned the floor, washed utensils and cooked vegetables at the community centre in the temple. The Omung-Kumar-directed biopic is about the Indian prisoner Sarabjeet who, by mistake, went to the border area and jailed in Pakistan died despite repeated requests by India and several Human Rights groups. Aishwarya plays the role of Dalbir Kaur, sister of Sarabjeet who fought a relentless struggle along with scores of Indians for his release.
“I hope the biopic will highlight the plight of Indian prisoners lodged in various jails in Pakistan. I strongly wish that film should depict the hardships faced by Sarabjit Singh during his life time especially the time he had spent in the Kotlakhpatrai jail of Lahore in Pakistan where he was killed in a murderous attack by one of the jail mate,” Dalbir Kaur told media.
