On Saturday marking the beginning of eight-day annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Parvathi Jedala Ramalingeshwara Swamy temple Cheruvugattu, as part of Nagarothsavam the presiding deity was taken on procession on Nalgonda streets. After Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, Yadagirigutta, in the district Cheruvugattu is considered most famous temple.
During the eight-day annual fete the temple receives about four lakh devotees.
This evening a huge number of people took part in Nagarothsavam.
On Sunday Gutha Manohar Reddy the Temple Executive Officer said on the second day Gavyantha Puja and Mula Mantha Japam would be performed at the shrine.
He further added that on Monday Swamivari Kalyanam, Teppothsavam on January 27 and Agnigundalu (walking on fire) on the last day will attract more devotees.
He also said that in coordination with the district administration they all arrangements were in place. Special services were being operated from Narketpally and Nalgonda, while the police deployed sufficient force to control the crowd.
