Iran’s top most leader Ayatollah Khamenei had equated Israel with a “rabid dog” and “Wolf” and gave an open call to arm Palestinians to fight them. Khamenei addressed Iranians and the muslim populace across the world on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr.
“This rabid dog, this rapacious wolf, has attacked innocent people and humanity must show a reaction. This is genocide, a catastrophe of historical scale. They have been pounding innocent people day and night and these men women and children are defending themselves with minimum means, and now Americans and Europeans want to take even that away … so that those merciless beasts could pound without qualm,” said Khamenei, indicating clear disapproval for the Western proposals of disarming Gaza entirely to secure peace in the region. The Western world had recently proposed disarming of Gaza and destroying the tunnel network used by Hamas and Palestinians to secure arms and continue their fight against Israel.
“Everyone, whoever has the means, especially in the Islamic world, they should do what they can to arm the Palestinian nation … the Zionist regime (of Israel) deeply regrets starting this (war) but has no way out,” said Khamenei.
Iran had been working out with America for a long time which required opening up their nuclear program to Western inspection.
