All-party meet on Pranahitha-Chevella sought

vivek sirCongress party leaders demanded completion of the prestigious Pranahitha-Chevella project construction on a war-footing without altering its original design. They asserted that it was taken up during the Congress rule considering the benefits in the districts. An awareness seminar on the project with experts’ participation was conducted at Gandhi Bhavan. PCC chief Uttamkumar Reddy demanded an all-party meeting to discuss the issue threadbare as the design was being changed by the vested interests. He said the construction of the project which is the lifeline of Telangana was not the personal issue of CM KCR. Janareddy suggested an in-depth study on irrigation projects and questioned how KCR could persuade four States when he could not come to terms with neighbouring State. Former MP from Peddapalli Vivek also stressed on retaining the project at Thummidi Hetti and fight for its national status without design alteration. Vivek also wanted Kaleshwaram-Muktheshwaram project to be taken up. He reminded that it was Kaka who had persuaded the then cm YSR for the project construction. So far Rs 9,000 has been spent on the project, he said.
