Alliance between RJD, JD(U), Congress announced for Bihar bypolls

Old foes Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar are teaming up again alongwith Congress for the upcoming Bihar assembly bypolls. The “Grand Alliance” has been announced by Bihar JD(U) chief Bashisht Narayan Singh today. JD(U) and RJD will contest four seats each, while Congress will contest the remaining two seats in the bypoll, he declared. “The combined vote share of these three parties is more than that of NDA,” reminded MR. Singh. The union has become a political necessity after Nitish broke away from NDA before the general elections, dissatisfied with fielding Modi as their prime candidate. Ram Vilas Pashwan’s LJP timely filled the gap for BJP and emerged victorious. What will this new teaming result in for Congress is to be seen.
