UP’s Samajwadi Party has announced that it will field candidates for both Parliament and assembly from Telangana and Seemandhra regions. Ram Gopal Yadav, general secretary of the party revealed the plans in a statement today.
SP candidates will contest from Tirupati, Machalipattnam, Warangal, Aarakku and Narsapuram Lok Sabha constituencies. The assembly constituencies would include Tiruvur, Kurnool, Warangal-East, Vardhanna Pet among others. The focus of the party is more on the Seemandhra region as it had opposed the creation of Telangana in Parliament.
Mulayam led Samajwadi party will also field candidates from Assam, Madhya Pradesh also this time. The aggressive approach is mainly an effort to get national recognition for the party.
