AOB operation over, forces back: AP DGP

director-general-of-ap-police-sambasiva-raoThe Director General of AP Police Sambasiva Rao has stated that the combing operations in Andhra-Odisha Border have been over and the grey hounds forces are being brought back. “The operation is over. It has taken place after a specific intelligence input. We did our job. we asked the naxals to surrender but instead they fired on us. We have no other option but to retaliate. The allegation that we have poisoned the Maoists to death is totally baseless. Why should we do it? It is also not a fact that maoist leader RK is being detained by us. No, he is not in our custody” the DGP made it clear in an interview.

On the warning by naxals which was released to media in the name of Kailasam- the police chief said-“we have seen several such warnings in the past and we have lost several boys, officers and even a former Home minister. We will continue to protect the people and people’s representatives”

The DGP has criticised the naxals as anti-development. “whom they (naxals) would target? Which government they are going to unsettle? All governments have been implementing developmental programmes. It is the naxals who have exploited the tribals for over four decades” he charged.
