AP has the right to use water under Dummugudem: KCR

kcrExtending olive branch to the neighboring Telugu state, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao today asserted that AP has the legitimate right to use the water under Dummugudem project. “ I made this statement during the course of my presentation in the Assembly on irrigation projects. Even if Telangana utilizes 1000 tmc ft, AP can still have 1500 tmc ft which is more than enough for them. I wish to reiterate that we are ready to cooperate on common issues. Nothing can be gained if we confront each other. The water that goes into the sea can be utilized by any Telugu state” he said. Stating that AP and Telangana have common border from Alampur to Bhadrachalam, “We will get the villages that come under Bhadrachalam division and negotiations are on. I urged AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during my visit to Vijayawada and he was positive about it” Mr Rao said. “After all, we have arrived at an understanding with Maharashtra which is not a Telugu state. Can’t we get the same from AP?” he asked. He said the Bhadrachalm temple would be developed with an amount of Rs 100 crore like Yadadri. Mr Rao attended the divine marriage of the Lord Rama and Sita today at the famous temple in Bhadracahalm which was built by Bhakt Ramadoss in 16th century.
