AP on High Alert under ‘Hudhud’ threat

HudhudThe districts across the coast of Bay of Bengal have been put on high alert as the cyclone ‘Hudhud’ is on the way to hit the region soon.

The meteorology department has informed that the cyclone is expected to cross the Bay of Bengal coastline on October 12 between Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Gopalpur in Odisha.

In a video conference with the district collectors, the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh IYR Krishna Rao directed the officials for making precautionary arrangements and reviewed the situation. The officials have been directed to take every step to safeguard human lives and other losses.

“Open relief camps wherever needed and move people from vulnerable areas to safety. Keep essential commodities ready for the evacuees”, told Chief Secretary to the collectors.

CM Naidu cancelled his program in Srikakulam district that was slated for Friday.

The collectors have been asked to send reports regularly on the latest situation.
