AP politics hots up over Amaravati land ‘dealings’

amaravathi -apClose on the heels of mass exodus of MLAs of opposition, AP is now rocking with another political controversy – the alleged massive land dealings by the biggies in the ruling party, including Nara Lokesh, son of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. A vernacular daily- Sakshi, owned by YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the leader of the Opposition, has published series of items alleging that hundreds of acres of land in and around Amaravati-the new capital of AP- has been bought by the persons close to ruling establishment. The list includes ministers- P Pulla Rao, Narayana, Ravela Kishore Babu, actor-turned MP M Murali Mohan, MLC Payyavula Kesav, Dhulipalla Narendra, son of Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad, Ligamaneni Group, Union minister Sujana Choudhury and several other TDP leaders. It was mentioned that more than 400 acres of Hailand- belonged to the owners of Agri Gold, who are in the thick of a court battle on financial misdeeds- in Vijayawada was usurped by Lokesh by foul means.

The series of stories charge that  the ruling party legislators have bought the lands with benami names and they could purchase it as they knew about the governmental plans well in advance.

As the damning reports dented government’s image- TD leaders went into huddle and retaliated on YSRC by digging out the alleged financial misconduct of Jagan and how amassed great wealth when his father was Chief Minister. Ministers Pulla Rao, Narayana and Ravela have offered to resign and quit politics if the Opposition party proves their allegations. Payyavula Kesav, who accepted that he bought land in his son’s name- challenged YSRC for an open debate on the charges. Accepting it, YSRC spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said he is ready to participate in any debate at any given place. “Let Naidu, Kesav and other TD crowd come to any place- either on Prakasam barrage or at the benami lands they purchased” he said.

Roja fires salvo on Pavan Kalyan 

The stormy petrel of opposition RK Roja demanded N Chandrababu Naidu to react on the massive land scam in Amaravati. She has also dragged actor and chief of Jana Sena- Pavan Kalyan into the controversy and asked why he keeps mum on the scam. “Pavan always says that he would open his mouth against injustice and on issues where public welfare is at stake. He went round Amaravati some times and spoke to ryots. Now he should react on the quid pro quo arrangemnts, behind the scene land dealings..” Roja demanded.

Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao MLA from Vijayawada city criricized Roja an “iron leg” and derided her that wherever she goes it will be a disaster.

Murali Mohan said he bought seven acres of land near Kanaka Durga varadhi in January 2014 and the issue of capital was not even on the air then. ‘Don’t you allow sincere and honest people to lead a peaceful life? Shall we have to go to police stations and courts every now and then like you?” he lambasted Jagan

He said he has been running real estate business for quite a long time and his company Jayabheri- has constructed many an apartment in Hyderabad. “I have been running the business in a fair way. I will continue to do so. If anyone proves that I bought lands out of the way, I m ready for any punishment” he made it clear.  He said he does not have any business transactions with any one including Chandrababu Naidu.
