The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday ruled that the common High Court situated in Hyderabad has a definite jurisdiction over both the Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The ruling comes from a division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar.
The bench was hearing a contempt case by a single judge soon after formation of Telangana, the division bench ruled that there is no requirement separately administer oath by the judges appointed in erstwhile AP High Court to discharge their duties as judges of the Common High Court.
The AP Reorganisation Bill-2014 claimed that both the states comes under the jurisdiction of the common High Court situated in Hyderabad until a separate High Court is formed for Andhra Pradesh.
