Arrangements at Someshwara Shiva Temple for Mahashivarathri

Arrangements-at-Someshwara-Nizamabad: The full swing of arrangements at Someshwara Shiva temple on the outskirts of Durki village of Bikkar Mandal for celebrating Mahashiva Rathri, which falls on Tuesday.

It is constructed during the 12th century AD and a famous pilgrimage centre with a Svayambhu Shivalingam.And it was ruled by the king Dhruvasana and later by Somabhoopala of the solar race. It has entrance from the east; the someshwara temple has an entrance from the west.

They introduced when the kings of Aurangabad attacked the temple to destroy shiva lingas and loot the wealth. But the devotees strongly believe that childless couple, who come here to worship lord someshwara, will get children.

And the Devotees in tens and thousands throng the temple during the month of Karthika and Mahashiva Rathri from various states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to offer special prayers on the eve of festival.
