Politics of defection has become the order of the day, it seems. The nation witnessed a drama in Arunachal Pradesh recently when Congres government was over-thrown with the help of rebel MLAs. The drama repeats in Uttarakhand now. Nine Congress rebel MLAs joined hands with the opposition BJP to stake claim to form the government in Uttarakhand.
But Chief Minister Harish Rawat claimed that he has full majority and is ready to prove int on the floor of the House. He said he has already been in touch with some rebel MLAs.
Meanwhile, the GS Kunjwal, Speaker of the Assembly has issued notices to rebel MLAs under anti-defection law.
A three-member BJP delegation met Governor K K Paul late at night, seeking dismissal of the Rawat government.
