Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the first PM to visit Australia, since Rajiv Gandhi in 1986.He is going address a joint sitting of federal Parliament when he visits Australia for G20 summit in Brisbane in November. China’s President Xi Jinping and Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron will also address federal Parliament.
The visit will boost the India-Australia ties. Abbott thanked Modi for the warm reception and hospitality accorded to him.
A statement had said that, “the visit had resulted in concrete outcomes and added new dimensions to the strategic partnership between India and Australia”.
