Bharat Ratna Mother Teresa…

220px-MotherTeresa_090French nun and ‘Bharat Ratna’ Mother Teresa’s service are still fresh in the minds of all particularly in Kolkota where she had served in the slums and remained a part of slums since September 10, 1946 and took oath as Loretta Sister on March 29, 1931. Her birth is rare and her services are as much rare as seldom such service-oriented and dedicated humans are born. Her footing is 105 years old. She died on September 5, 1997.

  • Established a school in Mothiz Hill, Calcutta on December 21, 1948

Established a missionary of charity in Calcutta in 1950 as Michael Gomes donated the place

In 1952 ‘Nirmala Hruday’ was set up near Kalimatha temple

In 1970 ‘Good Samaritan’ award by America

In 1971 Pope John Paul 23rd peace award

In 1972 Jawaharlal Nehru award for international understanding
