YS Jaganmohan Reddy, chief of YSRC has stated that Bhooma Nagi Reddy’s defection as somewhat painful and unexpected. But he blamed Chief Minister Naidu “for enticing the MLA from Kurnool offering him minister post”.
“I feel Bhooma’s family as my family. When his wife Shobha Nagi Reddy died in an accident, my entire family, including my mother and sister visited their home and consoled them. Her daughter Akhila Priya was offered ticket and we ensured unanimous victory. They now defected to Telugu Desam” he lamented. He spoke to media after meeting President Pranab Mukherjee in Delhi today.
Coming down heavily on the politics pursued by Naidu, he said the TD supremo has been known for his backstabbing mentality, ever since the days of the legendary NTR. “He moved earth and heaven and ultimately achieved four of our MLAs. This is just the second year of his governance. The anti-incumbency has already started sweeping across AP. In the third year, you will see TD MLAs queuing up at our doorstep. Not just these four MLAs, the tw MPs who defected to TD- Mr SPY Reddy and Renuka will have to face byelections as the jaws of anti-defection law are large and long enough to get them down” he remarked.
