The Maha-alliance of RJD-JDU and Congress is way ahead in the by-polls seen as the semi-final before the state elections due next year. RJD has won two seats till now while BJP and Congress won one each. BJP has won Narkatiganj where Congress was the winner last time but it has lost two, Mohiuddinagar and Rajnagar seats to RJD. BJP has also lost Bhagalpur seat to Congress.
The trend seems to be in the favour of maha-alliance as the group is ahead in 7 out of 10 seats while BJP is ahead in 3.
BJP was holding six out of the 10 seats that went to poll.
The maha-alliance came into existence after the two stalwarts, Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav held each other’s hand against BJP. Then Congress joined the group and got two seats out of 10 to contest, while RJD and JDU shared 4 each.
