In a latest attempt to ensure punctuality and discipline amongst the government employees, the Punjab government will soon install the biometric devices for attendance in all government offices in the state.
A spokesperson said to the state government said, “Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has approved the installation of the biometric attendance devices in each and every public office in Punjab at Chandigarh as well as in districts and other field offices with a view to facilitate common masses”.
Punjab is running a reforms campaign throughout the state to make the necessary reforms in the performance of the government offices. The top officials and ministers in the government made many surprise visits to important offices finding absence of senior officers and staff at most work places.
Badal, recently stated that the biometric devices are aimed at ending the harassment to the common man in the hands of officials. The device will ensure the punctuality and regularity of the government staff.
