The state unit of Uttar Pradesh BJP has accepted its defeat in the by-polls. The state president of Bharatiya Janata Party Laxmi Kant Bajpai on Tuesday affirmed to review the performance of the party.
“The responsibility of defeat is mine and my team. The reasons behind the defeat will be reviewed. It has given us a lesson for the Vidhan Sabha polls,” Laxmi Kant Bajpai said.
The BJP lost 8 out of 11 assembly seats that went for poll on September 13. State ruling Samajwadi Party grabbed 8 seats.
Samajwadi Party also retained Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat that was vacated by its party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
