Rahul Gandhi gave an interview to PTI yesterday after an almost two month gap after his last interview for Times Now. He questioned the SIT clean chit given to Narandra Modi over Gujarat riots and has opined that a fresh probe is warranted. He expressed confidence that Congress would come back to power even in these adverse situations. He said that the Congress faced even worse situations earlier in 2009 and was voted back to power. He expressed confidence that it will be a UPA 3 government in Center again this time.
BJP today hit back Rahul on several points. BJP’s Rajya Sabha leader Arun Jaitley has said that several senior Congress leaders are choosing to stay out of this sure to loss elections. Own leaders are deserting this sinking ship, Jaitley said. Congress has failed to set an agenda, he declared. Another BJP leader has told Rahul to respect the Supreme Court and it’s verdict on the Gujarat SIT report. Venkayya Naidu has said that his own party is not taking him seriously enough to declare him as a PM candidate, why should BJP take him seriously?
