In an attempt to appear united and focused on the upcoming elections, BJP central leadership has tried to quell rumors of discord in the top most leadership of the party. LK Advani, who was reported to have called the party “A one man show” earlier, refuted the remarks yesterday, He has said that he never passed those remarks. The senior most leader of the party tried to assert that he was not targeting Modi, “There is no infighting within the party… BJP is not a one-man party, this party belongs to every member and every individual is important in this party.”
Murli Manohar Joshi, another senior leader, reported to have been angered over news of Modi contesting from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, which he had been representing from long, has also said that he will abide by the decisions of the party in this regard. He has reminded that there is meeting on the 13th over these issues and whatever the Party Board decides, will be accepted by him and his followers.
Like wise, another senior leader, BJP’s Lok Sabha leader Sushma Swaraj who is reported to have left a recent party meeting midway deeply dissatisfied with recent party affairs, denied the reports as misrepresentation. She has said that she left from the meeting as she had to catch a flight and not for any other reason.
Another controversy is also brewing on the seat (Lucknow) announced as under consideration for party president Rajnath Singh.
